A teenager has been charged for allegedly stealing money from the Storm Lake movie theatre.
According to the Storm Lake Police Department, officers were called to the Vista Theatre late Thursday afternoon on a report of a burglary in progress. Police were advised by Vista Theatre staff that upon opening the business, they had observed two males inside, who then fled from the business on foot. Police responded to the area, and conducted a search for the suspects.
Following an on-scene investigation, police allege that two males entered the theatre outside of business hours and stole approximately 300-dollars in cash. One of the suspects was identified as a 14-year-old male from Lakeside. He was taken into custody Thursday evening and referred to juvenile court on a charge of 2nd Degree Burglary, a class C felony.
The investigation is ongoing and additional charges are possible. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Storm Lake Police Department.
