A Spencer woman was arrested on multiple charges following an incident in Royal Thursday evening.
According to the Clay County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were called to 115 Main Street in Royal at approximately 7:30pm Thursday after they received a report of a woman acting odd. Deputies arrived and found the woman, identified as 31-year-old Shelby Wolthuis. It was determined Wolthuis had allegedly been operating a vehicle that had been reported stolen from Greenville, and that she had allegedly burglarized three vehicles parked at a business in Royal. It was also discovered she was wanted by the Iowa State Patrol for Failure to Appear on a charge of Driving While Suspended or Revoked.
Wolthuis was booked into the Clay County Jail pending an initial court appearance. An investigation into the stolen vehicle is ongoing.
