A Storm Lake woman, who was sentenced to probation late last year for multiple methamphetamine possession offenses, was given an additional condition on Tuesday in Buena Vista County District Court.
41-year-old Melinda Smith was placed on probation this past December for Third Offense Possession of Methamphetamine, a class D felony. In April, a probation revocation was initiated due to multiple violations. Smith consented to the probation revocation, and was ordered to reside at a residential treatment facility. Smith was placed in the Buena Vista County Jail until a bed becomes available.
On July 28th of last year, Smith was arrested on drug charges after Storm Lake Police were called to 228 Russell Street regarding a custody issue. Police allegedly located a small amount of methamphetamine on Smith’s person. During the process to book Smith into jail, police located an amount of marijuana concealed in Smith’s property.
