Storm Lake St. Mary’s Junior Ag Club Awarded FCS America Grant

Storm Lake St. Mary’s has received a grant for the school’s Panthers Junior Agriculture Club.

The 17-hundred dollar “Working Here Fund” grant, provided by Farm Credit Services of America, will help purchase supplies and expenses related to hands-on learning experiences. Lead coordinator/volunteer for the program, Ralna McVinua, says the goal is to create awareness of agriculture through activities, speakers, and field trips to local producers’ farms.

Storm Lake St. Mary’s is one of 138 organizations to receive a Working Here Fund grant in the second quarter of this year. FCS America awarded over 601-thousand dollars during the latest grant cycle.

The St. Mary’s Panthers Junior Ag Club meets after school throughout the academic year.
