Storm Lake St. Mary’s Holds Celebration for Pets

Storm Lake St. Mary’s celebrated their annual Pet Blessing Day this week.

The event was held on Wednesday in the school courtyard. Father Brent Lingle offered blessings and prayers for each pet as part of honoring the Feast Day of Saint Francis, who is considered the patron saint of animals.

The Pet Blessing is meant to serve as a reminder of the special place that pets hold in our lives. The event aligns with the St. Mary’s school’s mission to nurture compassion and respect for all life, while deepening students’ connection with nature, along with values of empathy and kindness.
