Storm Lake Residents Seriously Injured in Woodbury County Crash

Two Storm Lake residents were seriously injured in a three-vehicle crash in Woodbury County.

According to the Iowa State Patrol, the accident happened at approximately 12:43 Wednesday afternoon between Moville and Kingsley. 31-year-old Deiler Reyes Pena of Storm Lake was driving a car eastbound on 110th Street. Reyes Pena failed to yield to a stop sign at Highway 140 and struck the left side of a truck headed north on the highway driven by 42-year-old Corey Lias of Sioux City. A Peterbilt 377 truck driven by 72-year-old Steven French of Moville was also headed northbound behind the Lias’ truck. The Peterbilt struck the left side of Reyes Pena’s vehicle.

Reyes Pena and a passenger, 29-year-old Yanisleydis Perez Hechavarria of Storm Lake, were both transported to MercyOne Siouxland Medical Center in Sioux City with serious injuries.
