The Great Bicycle Ride Across Iowa, known as RAGBRAI, is a little over three weeks away. The week-long race will begin on Sunday, July 23rd in Sioux City and end on Saturday, July 29th in Davenport. That opening day, riders will make the trek to Storm Lake for the first overnight stop.
Many activities will be happening at the Awaysis Great Lawn next to King’s Pointe Resort. The beer garden will open up at 3 pm for all the riders and guests. There will be many musical acts performing that afternoon into the evening as well including the headliner of the night, “The Spazmatics” from 8:30-10:30 pm. The Spazmatics are an 80s Cover Tribute Band.
RAGBRAI Committee Member, Elissa Doebel, said the committee is gearing up for an exciting weekend, but with that will need some additional volunteers.
Storm Lake is the first overnight stop for the 50th edition of the bike ride. More than 25,000 riders and support team members are expected.
