The Storm Lake Police Department unveiled its new “YumVee” vehicle this week.

The “YumVee H2” will be used mainly for the department’s Community Engagement and Crime Prevention Strategy, which focuses on forging connections with community members. The vehicle is equipped with a mobile freezer for ice cream treats.

The new “YumVee H2” debuted on Tuesday during National Night Out. It was previously used in drug trafficking. The vehicle was forfeited during a drug investigation two years ago, and was subsequently seized by Storm Lake Police.
