Storm Lake Man Charged With Trespassing Accused of Possessing Contraband While Being Booked in Jail

A Storm Lake man received drug-related charges last week after he was apprehended in a trespassing incident.

According to the Storm Lake Police Department, the department was called to the 400 block of West 9th Street at around 1:45pm Thursday regarding an individual trespassing at a vacant property. Upon arrival, police were advised that the individual had fled the area on a bicycle. The individual was later located in the 100 block of West Milwaukee Avenue and identified as 39-year-old Master Sarapio of Storm Lake.

Sarapio was taken into custody without incident for trespassing. Police allege that a search incident to arrest Sarapio led to the discovery of drug paraphernalia. Sarapio was transported to the Buena Vista County Jail for booking. Police allege that after arrival to the jail and during the booking process, police found methamphetamine concealed on Sarapio’s person.

Sarapio was charged with Possession of Contraband in a Correctional Facility, a class D felony…Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, a simple misdemeanor…and 1st Offense Trespassing, a simple misdemeanor. He was booked into the Buena Vista County Jail on a 55 hundred dollar bond.
