Storm Lake Man Arrested in Connection to Alleged Assault Outside a Nightclub

A man has been arrested in connection to an alleged assault incident outside of a nightclub in Storm Lake.

According to Storm Lake Police, the department at approximately 2am this past Sunday morning received a belated report of an assault that had occurred an hour before that in the 500 block of Erie Street. Two victims informed officers that upon exiting a nightclub in the 500 block of Erie Street, they were assaulted by multiple male suspects in the off-street city parking area in the 500 block of Erie Street. The victims claimed four or more suspects struck them several times causing bodily injuries to their faces, and then fled the scene running away on foot south from the area.

Following an investigation, 19-year-old Leodan Rojas of Storm Lake was taken into custody. Rojas was charged with Rioting, a class D felony…and Assault Causing Bodily Injuries, a serious misdemeanor. He was booked into the Buena Vista County Jail on a 53 hundred dollar bond.
