A Storm Lake man has been arrested on multiple charges after trespassing on a railroad property.
According to a press release, on Wednesday afternoon of this week, an officer from the Storm Lake Police Department observed a man trespassing on CN railroad property in the 500 Block of Otsego Street. While the officer attempted to stop the male, the individual ditched a bike and made a run away from the officer on foot. The pursuit eventually ended in the 100 Block of West Railroad.
The man was identified as 48-year-old Quincy Malakai, of Storm Lake. Malakai was arrested and while being booked, police allege that Malakai attempted to strike an officer with his knee while also threatening to kill an officer. He was restrained and placed into a holding cell at the Buena Vista County Jail.
Malakai was officially charged with Interference with Official Acts (a simple misdemeanor), Trespassing (a simple misdemeanor), Assault on a Peace Officer (a serious misdemeanor), and Harassment 1st Degree (an aggravated misdemeanor). He was booked and held on a $3,600 bond.
