A Storm Lake man was arrested earlier this week for allegedly assaulting a female in a residence with children present.
According to the Storm Lake Police Department, officers were called to the Buena Vista Regional Medical Center at 11am this past Tuesday for a victim reporting a belated assault. The victim claimed 27-year-old Leeson John assaulted her the previous day by punching her in the head and choking her. Two minor children were allegedly in the residence and witnessed the assault.
Police located John shortly after the report was given, and he was taken into custody without incident. John was charged with Domestic Assault Strangulation, a class D felony…and two counts of Child Endangerment, an aggravated misdemeanor. He was booked without bond into the Buena Vista County Jail.
