Storm Lake Man Allegedly Broke Into Residence and Committed Assault

A Storm Lake man was arrested this past weekend on multiple charges after he allegedly broke into a local residence and assaulted an individual.

According to Storm Lake Police, officers were called Sunday morning to the 700 block of Emerald Drive on a report of domestic assault. 32-year-old Jesus Garcia allegedly entered a residence while the occupants were sleeping. Garcia reportedly assaulted a female occupant in the presence of a juvenile, and fled the scene prior to the arrival of law enforcement. The victim sustained minor injuries.

Garcia was located by police several hours later on foot in the 400 block of College Avenue, and was taken into custody without incident. Garcia was arrested and charged with 1st Degree Burglary, a class B felony…Assault Committed by a Person Whom a Protective Order is Issued, a class D felony…and 2nd Offense Domestic Abuse Assault, 1st Degree Harassment, and Child Endangerment, all aggravated misdemeanors.

Garcia was booked without bond into the Buena Vista County Jail.
