A total of 123 units of blood were collected at three LifeServe Blood Center blood drives in Storm Lake this month.
The local blood drives were hosted to support the Buena Vista Regional Medical Center, as well as over 130 other hospitals that are served by LifeServe. The blood donated has the ability to save up to 369 local lives.
Several local donors reached milestones with their most recent donation. Allen Akstrom and Delbert Persoon reached nine gallons…Pamela Henderson four gallons…and Joshua Braunschweig has donated two gallons of blood.
Three blood drives are scheduled in Storm Lake during the month of June. A blood drive will be held on Tuesday, June 6th at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church from 12:30 to 5:30 pm. The next blood drive will be held on Wednesday, June 14th for the Gracelin Dahlhauser Scholarship at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church from 1 to 6 pm. The final blood drive will be on Friday, June 16th at the United Methodist Church from 9 am to 1 pm. Text the word “LIFESERVE” to 999-777 to make your next appointment.
