Storm Lake Library Debuts New Telehealth Facility

The Storm Lake Public Library held an open house on Thursday to showcase its new telehealth room.

This is the first telehealth room to be located in a public library in the state and the entire Great Plains region. The space offers patrons the chance to communicate with physical or mental health providers online. The space offers full privacy, and includes two computer terminals along with a web camera and audio equipment so a loved one or translator can also participate in a distance session.

The room can be scheduled for time periods weekdays from 9am to 5pm free of charge. It can be used to teleconference with medical professionals, physical therapists, mental health services, social work programs, and educators. For more information or to schedule a time, contact the library at 732-8026.
