The Storm Lake City Council this week on a 3-2 vote approved a resolution supporting a workforce housing tax incentive program.
Healthy Efficient Homes LLC is submitting an application to the Iowa Economic Development Authority for the Workforce Housing Tax Credit Incentive Program. Storm Lake City Manager Keri Navratil said the resolution is similar to ones that the council passed in the last three years…
Council members Tyson Rice and Matt Ricklefs voted against the resolution, and council members Maggie Martinez, Maria Ramos, and Kevin McKinney voted in favor.
The council also finalized the issuance of 5.8 million dollars in Tax Increment Financing funds to go toward improvements at the King’s Pointe Waterpark Resort. City Finance Director Brian Oakleaf said there will not be a need for a Reserve Fund, which he said is huge for this particular process.
