Storm Lake City Council OK’s New Water Agreement With Tyson

The Storm Lake City Council this week approved a new 20-year water agreement with the local Tyson Foods plants.

The agreement states that the city will furnish and sell water to Tyson for the duration of the contract. Storm Lake City Manager Keri Navratil said the new industrial rates that the council approved in June will apply to the agreement…

The agreement states that Tyson must have a backflow preventer installed on their water lines in accordance with American Water Works Association standards.

Storm Lake’s previous water contract with Tyson Foods was also for 20 years.
