The Storm Lake City Council this week approved various permits, variances, and traffic control assistance for several upcoming events.
Those events include the Kiwanis “Storm The Lake” Sprint Triathlon/Duathlon on August 19th, which will be held at Awaysis Park. The event raises funds for community efforts including Kiwanis Park.
The BVU Welcome Weekend takes place August 25th and 27th. The event includes a Professional Day for new students, as well as a Welcome Back concert.
The BVRMC AWARE Walk/Run will be held on September 16th. The event raises awareness about cancer and funds to assist cancer patients with individual needs.
The Step Up and Run Half Marathon and 5K is scheduled for September 2nd at Sunrise Park near King’s Pointe.
The council also approved permits and variances for the Kiwanis Kar Show on September 3rd in Chautauqua Park. The event will feature a fundraising meal and 4H children’s activities to raise funds for community and youth programming.
