Storm Lake City Council Approves Fees For Use of Fire Department Safety Trailer

The Storm Lake City Council this week approved a request from the local fire department on terms for adding a fee for the use of their safety trailer.

Schlesser said the requests they’ve received for use of the trailer have only been within BV County, and probably wouldn’t allow it to be used any further than a one-hour drive from Storm Lake.

Mayor Mike Porsch said a fee of 150 dollars didn’t seem like it would be high enough in instances where they would be transporting it an hour away. The council approved the revised language of 150 dollars for the use of the fire safety trailer, plus six dollars a mile if it was being used for an event outside of BV County.
