The fundraiser for this year’s Storm Lake Star Spangled Spectacular kicked off on Wednesday.
The Spectacular committee is looking to the community for help in funding the local festival on July 3rd and 4th. The goal this year is 38-thousand dollars.

More than 700 letters have been mailed to previous donors and prospects.
The Star Spangled Spectacular is coming off a record-breaking year in 2021 in which 37-thousand dollars was raised. The event is planned annually by volunteers who ask the community and its businesses to provide support for fireworks, entertainment, insurance, golf cart rentals, shirts, postage, and other supplies and day-of needs.
This year’s Star Spangled Spectacular theme is “Red, White, and Blue in 2022.”
