Star Spangled Spectacular Fundraising Surpasses Halfway Point Toward Goal

Fundraising for this year’s Storm Lake Star Spangled Spectacular is more than halfway toward the goal.

According to a press release, 25 thousand dollars has been raised for the annual July 3rd and 4th event after two weeks of collecting donations. The goal is 40 thousand. A record amount of 44 thousand dollars was raised last year.

Fundraising co-chair Josh Newhouse says many donors have increased their donations over last year, and several first-time donors sent in their contributions this week. Fundraising co-chair Matt Brostad noted that online donations continue to increase.

Donation checks can be made out to “Star Spangled Spectacular” and sent to Josh Newhouse, Fundraising Chair, PO Box 457, Storm Lake, IA 50588.

The “Round Up For Fireworks” fundraiser is happening through this Saturday, June 22nd. Customers will have the opportunity to round up to the nearest dollar at the register with proceeds going toward funding the Spectacular’s fireworks show at 10pm on the 4th of July.
