A Spencer woman was arrested this past weekend after she threatened police officers with a sword.
According to Spencer Police Chief Mark Warburton, the department was notified of a disturbance in the 800 block of East 7th Street shortly after midnight on Saturday. The caller claimed there was an unknown female banging on her door. Upon arrival, police discovered 34-year-old Tristan Buhr standing on the front porch armed with a sword as well as pepper spray. Buhr allegedly aggressively approached officers swinging the sword and refusing commands. A taser was deployed, which allowed Buhr to be taken into custody without incident.
An investigation determined that Buhr made the initial call to 911 with the intent to confront police. Buhr was treated on scene by Spencer Ambulance and transported to the Clay County Jail on a charge of Interference With Official Acts With a Weapon, a class D felony.
