A Spirit Lake Man was transported to the hospital after walking away from a crash.
Thursday morning, at around 5 am, the Clay County Sheriff’s Office responded to a suspicious person’s complaint in the 3000 mile of 310th Avenue. It was found that Michael Riesberg, of Spirit Lake, was driving a 1999 Toyota 4Runner southbound on 310th Avenue and left the road to the left, where he entered a river embankment, nose-dived into the river, and came to rest on the left.
According to a press release, Riesberg walked to a nearby farm residence after the crash. Riesberg was taken to the Spencer Hospital to be treated for injuries. His vehicle is considered to be a total loss. The Ruthven Fire Department, Buds Service, and Boji Tow assisted on the scene.
