A Spencer man will spend time in jail after he pleaded guilty last week in Sioux City Federal Court to possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute.
57-year-old Todd Williams was convicted of Possession With Intent to Distribute Meth. Williams had previously been convicted of Conspiracy to Manufacture and Distribute Methamphetamine in 2004.
Evidence at the plea hearing showed that on March 4th law enforcement executed a search warrant at Williams residence after receiving information that he was selling and possessing methamphetamine. Authorities seized nearly three pounds of meth and approximately 50-thousand dollars in cash. During the execution of the warrant, Williams was seen by law enforcement driving by the residence. Authorities attempted to stop Williams, who led them on a high-speed chase before being stopped and arrested.
Williams faces between 15 years and life in prison. Sentencing will be set after a presentence report is prepared.
