A Spencer man was arrested for the use of tobacco while being underage.
This past Sunday evening, a Clay County Deputy engaged in a traffic stop in the 3500 mile of 200th Avenue in Spencer. According to a criminal complaint, the Deputy found 19-year-old Aiden Chaffin, of Spencer to be in possession of tobacco products under the legal age of 21.
In addition to the tobacco, the officer also found Chaffin to be in possession of marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and a sawed-off shotgun. He was placed under arrest and transported to the Clay County Jail on charges of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Minor in Possession of Tobacco, both Simple Misdemeanors; Possession of a Controlled Substance Marijuana, a Serious Misdemeanor; and Possession of an Offensive Weapon, a Class D Felony.
Chaffin was released on a $5,000 cash or surety bond.
