A special observance festival is returning next week for the fourth consecutive year. Iowa Central’s Spanish Department is celebrating National Hispanic Heritage Month with their annual Afro-Latino Festival on Wednesday, September 27th in the Student Resource Center on the Fort Dodge campus.
The festival will begin at 8am and will feature educational posters from Spanish and Latino History students. There will be food and games at 9:50am plus the President of Iowa Central Community College Dr. Jesse Ulrich will present at 10am.
According to Spanish Instructor at Iowa Central, Andrea Estling referenced that the event has grown significantly from its debut in 2019, with approximately 500 students, faculty, staff, and area high school students that attended last year. The public is welcomed to this year’s event.
