The Storm Lake Community School District Foundation is awarding 18 classroom educator incentive grants in the Storm Lake District for the upcoming school year.
Grants are being awarded to programs including the high school’s ASCEND Program…East Early Childhood Center for lockable outdoor storage and play materials and a sensory room…Middle School Special Education Inclusive Book Club…Middle School 8th Grade ELL for dry erase tables…a virtual reality in the maker space in the middle school library…optional seating for today’s active students in 6th grade math…a portable sensory room and sensory room update for Elementary School Special Education…Spanish Hook Books for the Elementary School Media Center… biblioteca del Salon for 2nd Grade Dual Language…4th Grade Co-Teaching is Key…3rd Grade Dual Language for a Social Emotional Learning Environment…a 4th grade trauma and student support inclusive classroom…and for four 3rd grade sections of flexible seating and building classroom community.
A news release states that the Storm Lake School District Foundation intends for these awards to signal a public/private partnership to help educators do critical work in the school district to help students in the district. The Foundation knows that teachers are the most valuable component in the success of students, and want to assist the district to make that happen.
