Sioux Central FFA Receives Grant Funds for Greenhouse Project

The Sioux Central FFA Chapter has been awarded five-thousand dollars as part of the Grants For Growing program to go toward a greenhouse project.

The nationwide program provides grant funds to local FFA chapters to support the development or improvement of agricultural education projects that enhance the classroom experiences for students through chapter engagement activities. The program provided 870-thousand dollars to FFA chapters in 42 states.

The Sioux Central FFA plans to construct a 30 by 30 foot greenhouse that can help enhance plant science learning in the classroom. The greenhouse will include a fertilization and watering system that will help students learn about plant production. Sioux Central’s FFA has been raising funds for the project.
