A total of 39 farm families in the state have been recognized with Iowa Farm Environmental Leader Awards.
The award acknowledges farmers who take voluntary actions to improve and protect the state’s natural resources while serving as leaders in their communities. The awards were presented at the Iowa State Fair.
Recipients include the Millard Land Corporation and Tynie Enterprises in Buena Vista County…Rusty and Karen Corderman and Jasen and Jen Tiefenthaler in Sac County…Roger Bumann of Ida County…Perry and Stacy Corey of Calhoun County…and there are several recipients in Pocahontas County including Troy and Jeanne Elbert, Curt Sindergaard, and the Peters Farm.
The winners were chosen by a committee representing conservation and agricultural groups.
