A reminder that the Storm Lake Municipal Band’s first concert of the season will be this Sunday, June 2nd at 2pm at the Sunset Park Bandshell.
The band will perform Waltz Scenario by John Cacavas, Albany Fanfare by William Owens, Jose Padilla’s El Relicario, Dance Little Bird by Rendall and Thomas, Gotta Love That Dixieland by Andy Clark, Gustav Mahler’s Finale to Symphony Number 3, and various marches.
The band will host a car show as part of the season opener. Those interested in participating should bring their cars to the park around 1pm Sunday. There is no registration, and no awards will be given.
This marks the 89th season of performances by the Storm Lake Municipal Band. Concerts are held each Sunday through June, and continuing through July 7th. The concerts all begin at 2pm, except the June 9th event which will start at 3pm following the Kids Fest celebration. The concerts are free of charge, and different themes will be featured each week. The band will also perform Wednesday, July 3rd starting at 5:30pm as part of the Star Spangled Spectacular Patriotic Ceremony.
