Two individuals were arrested this week for shoplifting in Storm Lake.
The Storm Lake Police Department was called to the Walmart store at 1831 North Lake Avenue at approximately 5:20pm on Tuesday. Two suspects allegedly failed to pay for merchandise valued at approximately $1,680. Police took the two suspects into custody on scene. They were identified as 42-year-old Salene Escobedo and 33-year-old Darlene Luna, both of Sac City.
Escobedo and Luna were each charged with 2nd Degree Theft, a class D felony. Police were further advised that Luna was wanted in California on an active probation violation warrant.
Escobedo was booked into the Buena Vista County Jail on a five-thousand dollar bond. Luna was held awaiting extradition to California.
