United Bank of Iowa has donated over 21 acres of woodland to the City of Sac City to enhance the city’s park system and recreational opportunities.
The land is located north of Old Highway 20 and east of the North Raccoon River. The property gift was officially finalized on Tuesday. Plans for the land include expanding trails, adding picnic areas, constructing a mountain biking challenge trail, and building a walking bridge to connect it to the future OHV park on the west side of the river.
Sac City Mayor Scott Bundt says the land will be a tremendous asset to the community, and will provide a space for residents and visitors to connect with nature and enjoy outdoor activities.
