Registration Open For Adult Ag Education Program at Clay County Fair

Registration for the annual “Bite By The Barn” event at the Clay County Fair is now open.

“Bite By The Barn” is an adult agriculture education program designed to share accurate information with consumers about production agriculture and the food supply. This year’s program will feature interactive barn tours led by ISU Extension and Outreach specialists and industry experts, snacks and coupons sponsored by local industry partners, and an opportunity for consumers to ask agriculture and food supply questions.

“Bite By The Barn” will be held at the Clay County Fair in Spencer on Thursday, September 14th from 4 to 5:30pm. Registration is free. Participants will receive educational resources, treats, and free admission into the fair on the afternoon of the program.

Register at the Iowa State University Extension website or contact the Clay County Extension Office. The deadline to sign up is September 7th. “Bite By The Barn” is hosted by the Clay County Fair and ISU Extension. The Clay County Fair runs from September 9th through the 17th.
