Several northwest Iowa counties, including Buena Vista, are now under a Red Flag Warning today (Wed) from 11am into the evening hours due to high winds and low relative humidity.
A Fire Weather Watch that was previously issued is no longer in effect. According to the National Weather Service, a Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now or will shortly. A combination of strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can contribute to extreme fire behavior. Outdoor burning is not recommended.
