Public Hearing Set for Street Improvements Related to Construction of New Storm Lake Kwik Trip Store

A public hearing will be held in early February regarding street and utility improvements for a section of Memorial Road in Storm Lake.

A Kwik Trip convenience store is on track to be constructed. Storm Lake Development Services Specialist Lee Dutfield says the project will increase vehicle traffic within the Memorial Road corridor, especially north of the intersection with Lakeshore Drive…

The public hearing will be held during the city council meeting on February 5th at 5pm in the council chambers at city hall. According to Dutfield, a preliminary meeting has already been held with businesses and property owners in the construction area. Dutfield says attendance at the meeting was great, and they feel there’s been good communication with those who will be affected.

The cost of the improvements is estimated at 2.5 million dollars. The Storm Lake Kwik Trip store is expected to open next year.
