Iowa pork producers are stepping up again this year to fight food insecurity with “Pork in the Pantry”
Last year, pork producers across the state donated more than 45 thousand dollars worth of pork to local food pantries, providing an estimated 60 thousand servings of protein to Iowans in need.
“Pork in the Pantry” offers up to one thousand dollars in funding per county pork producer organization to purchase and donate pork to local food pantries.
Donations to food pantries will run through March 23rd. Visit IowaPork.org for more information. Buena Vista, Calhoun, Cherokee, Clay, Ida, Pocahontas, and Sac are among the county pork producer organizations that participated in “Pork in the Pantry” last year.
