A Pocahontas man died this weekend when a car collided with a motorcycle in Kossuth County.
According to the Iowa State Patrol, the accident happened at approximately 1pm today (Sun) just east of Algona. A 17-year-old from Ackley was driving a compact car southbound on 160th Avenue. The teenager failed to yield to a stop sign and was struck by a motorcycle headed westbound on Highway 18. The motorcycle was driven by 42-year-old Adam Allen of Pocahontas.
Allen was pronounced dead at the scene. The 17-year-old, who was wearing a seat belt, was life flighted to Mercy One Medical Center in Mason City.
