Pocahontas County Now Approved for FEMA Assistance Under Recent Presidential Disaster Declaration

Pocahontas is one of a few counties now added to the list to receive public assistance for emergency protective measures and permanent work under the previously approved Presidential Major Disaster Declaration for Iowa counties where significant damage was sustained from weather-related events starting on June 16th.

Residents in several area counties are eligible for the Disaster Recovery Temporary Housing Program, which is available to survivors whose homes were heavily damaged, destroyed, or deemed not habitable under the declaration for both FEMA Individual and Public Assistance.
