A Denison man was arrested last month in Pocahontas County on several charges related to illegal possession of firearms.
According to the Pocahontas County Sheriff’s Office, a traffic stop was made back on August 21st a few miles north of Pocahontas at the intersection of Highway 4 and county road C-29. 37-year-old Ian Ward was arrested and charged with five counts of Possession of a Firearm by a Felon, and five counts of Possession of a Firearm Suppressor, both class D felonies…and Possession of a Short-Barreled Rifle, also a class D felony.
Other charges included Possession of Methamphetamine and Possession of Marijuana, both serious misdemeanors…and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, a simple misdemeanor. Ward was also issued a citation for No Valid Driver’s License.
Ward was transported to the Pocahontas County Jail. The Pocahontas County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Pocahontas Police Department.
