The Pocahontas Area School Board will discuss a petition at their meeting this coming Monday, September 12th that is urging the board to fire the district’s superintendent.
The petition has been signed by over 230 residents within the Pocahontas Area district. The school board received the petition in August, which is due to complaints over a span of several months regarding Superintendent Joe Kramer. Petition organizers are citing concerns regarding the amount of staff turnover, declining enrollment, alleged retaliation, spending issues, and a possible hostile working environment. The individual who gave the petition to the school board says there’s been almost 80 staff resignations within the district over the last three years.
The Pocahontas Area School Board meeting begins at 7pm Monday in the High School commons. The public will be allowed to make comments during the petition discussion.
