A Peterson man was arrested early Monday morning for allegedly assaulting a woman and a child.
According to the Clay County Sheriff’s Office, a report was received around 12:30am Monday regarding a domestic assault that occurred at the residence at 10 Ash Street in Peterson. Following an investigation, it was determined that 43-year-old Robert Petersen had assaulted a woman identified as Molly Knudtson and her juvenile child during a domestic incident at around 11:40pm Sunday. Petersen left the residence prior to the arrival of deputies. He was located later in the early morning hours Monday by the O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office at a residence south of Sutherland at 6613 500th Street.
Petersen was arrested by Clay County Deputies and transported to the Clay County Jail. He was booked on charges of Domestic Assault Impeding Airway, an aggravated misdemeanor…and Assault, a serious misdemeanor.
