The City of Storm Lake will host a Volunteer Appreciation reception next week.
The event will be held this coming Tuesday, September 12th from 5:30 to 7pm at King’s Pointe Resort. Everyone who volunteers in any role in the Storm Lake community is invited to the informal reception. A light meal will be provided.
In a statement included in a news release, Storm Lake Mayor Mike Porsch says volunteerism is a backbone of the community, and he thanks everyone who gives their time and talent to help make the community an exceptional place to live.
The event will also provide an introduction to the newly-completed comprehensive plan for the city. The plan addresses Storm Lake’s goals and aspirations for future community development, especially detailing land-use and growth. Representatives of the engineering firm who are working with the city in the planning process will be on hand. Everyone who would like to learn more about the comprehensive plan is encouraged to attend.
