A two-vehicle accident in Clay County over the weekend resulted in heavy damage to both vehicles and one driver getting injured.
According to the Clay County Sheriff’s Office, the accident happened at 2pm Sunday a few miles southwest of Spencer at the intersection of 200 Avenue and 380th Street. An investigation determined that Brandon Kruse of Royal was operating a 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan and failed to yield to the right of way at the intersection, and collided with a 1996 Jeep Cherokee driven by Shawn Doyle of Royal. Both vehicles wound up in the ditch. The intersection was blind due to standing corn.
Kruse received minor injuries, and was issued a citation. The Clay County Sheriff’s Office reminds everyone to slow down at uncontrolled intersections before proceeding through.
