The City of Storm Lake’s capital improvement plan for water infrastructure has taken another step forward, as a site has been located for an additional well.
The city council approved an engineering contract with ISG for the project this week. Storm Lake Public Works Director Matt Beckman said exploratory drilling was done on three potential sites…
The two wells will not compete for supply since they’ll reach into different aquifers. Construction on Well 23 is expected next summer.
The new wells will help provide water resources to serve the needs of the growing population of Storm Lake, along with the additional storage capacity of the new water tower that’s now under construction.
