Average cash rents in Iowa are now the highest on record.
The annual cash rent survey from Iowa State University Extension and Outreach shows a nine-percent increase this year to bring the statewide average to $279 dollars per acre. The new record is 3.3 percent higher than the previous record set in 2013.
For the district that includes Buena Vista, Cherokee, Clay, O’Brien, Palo Alto, and Pocahontas counties, the average cash rent price is up 32 dollars to 302 dollars.
For the district that includes Calhoun, Ida, and Sac counties, the average cash rent price is up 22 dollars to 298 dollars.
