Nearly a Hundred Units of Blood Collected at Storm Lake LifeServe Drives in August

A total of 96 units of blood were collected at two LifeServe Blood Center drives earlier this month in Storm Lake.

The amount of blood collected has the ability to save up to 288 local lives. The blood drives were hosted to support the Buena Vista Regional Medical Center and over 150 other local hospitals served by LifeServe.

Several local donors hit milestones with their most recent donation including Gary Brown 19 gallons…Dan Sievers 12 gallons…Loren Pearson 11 gallons…Mike Rust ten gallons…Janann Popp nine gallons…Lexanne Clapp eight gallons…Bruce Milbrandt seven gallons…Andrea Vlahoulis six gallons…and Tim Ried five gallons.

Four blood drives are scheduled in Storm Lake during the month of September.

Tuesday, September 5th from 12:30 to 5:30pm at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church.

Tuesday, September 5th from 10am to 2:30pm at Buena Vista University.

A private blood drive will be held on Wednesday, September 13th at St. Mary’s High School.

Friday, September 15th from 9:30am to 1:30pm at the United Methodist Church.
