This past Saturday afternoon, a little after 1 o’clock, the Milford Police Department responded to a multi-vehicle injury accident that happened on Highway 86 and 210th Street in Milford. An investigation led to the discovery of Ryan Nielsen, of Arnolds Park, who was driving a 2016 Honda Accord struck a 2016 GMC Acadia, operated by Russell Myers, of California.
Myers’ vehicle was pushed into oncoming traffic where it was struck again by a 2015 Chevrolet Equinox, driven by Eric Guy, of Des Moines. Guy and his passenger, Naomi Wittstruck received injuries and had to be transported to Lakes Regional Hospital. Nielsen and Myers were both checked out by medical staff but refused treatment.
Nielsen was issued a traffic citation for failure to stop in assured clear distance. The Milford Police Department was assisted by the Okoboji Police Department, Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office, Iowa State Patrol, Milford Fire Department, and Lakes Regional Ambulance.
