Moose Still Wandering in Northwest Iowa

The moose that was spotted around Sioux Center and Orange City last week has apparently made its way east.

According to DNR Conservation Officer Joey Yarkosky, the animal was spotted earlier this week in Clay County near Gillett Grove. The moose was seen Wednesday near Ruthven.

Yarkosky says anyone who sees the animal should leave it alone and keep their distance, saying crowding around a moose is dangerous as well as disrespectful. It is rare for a moose to be seen this far south, but Yarkosky says there have been sightings in past years.
