A Milford man was seriously injured in a single-vehicle crash over the weekend.
According to the Clay County Sheriff’s Office, the accident happened at approximately 6:45 Saturday evening north of Ruthven. 65-year-old John Newgard was driving a pickup truck northbound on 330th Avenue. Deputies say he lost control of the vehicle while rounding a curve at 300th Street. The vehicle left the road and went into the ditch sideways and rolled.
Newgard sustained serious injuries and was taken by ambulance to the Spencer Hospital. Following an investigation, Newgard was charged with 2nd Offense Operating While Intoxicated.
