A local hospital has become the first in northwest Iowa to hire a certified midwife.
The Cherokee Regional Medical Center and Cherokee Medical Clinic recently hired certified midwife Jeannette Hasley as part of the medical staff. Hasley received her Associate in Science in Nursing degree from St. Joseph Mercy School of Nursing in Sioux City in 1985. Hasley worked for 25 years as a registered nurse before receiving her Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from the University of Iowa. Hasley also received a Master of Science in Nursing degree in Kentucky in 2022 before practicing as a Board Certified Nurse/Midwife and Advanced Registered Nurse Practioner.
Hasley is northwest Iowa’s only hospital-based certified midwife. She will be able to provide specialized care for patients at Cherokee Regional Medical Center who prefer the care of a midwife with the full support of a Critical Access Hospital. In addition to providing care for patients during pregnancy and delivery, Hasley will also provide specialized care to women from puberty and into menopause.
Hasley is currently accepting new patients. To learn more or to schedule an appointment, contact the Cherokee Medical Clinic at 712-225-6265.
